February?!

It can't be.  Really?  Yea, I guess it is.  February already.  I can't believe it has been one year since we adopted out little Fancy-Pants.
She still makes my heart skip a beat.

Photography

The first class I took in college was photography.  I couldn't wait to get in a darkroom and learn everything about film and aperture.  Yum.  10 years later I am wishing I remembered more from that class.

I woke up this morning and decided I was going to photograph some new pillowcases I had made for Etsy.  Yup, I had decided.  I was going to forget about how frustrating the last experience had been and I was going to do it.  That excitement dwindled quickly as soon as I saw the photos I was capturing.

Blue and dull and just...eew.

Consider this a before and after.  I am going to give in the the ease of artificial lighting and I am heading to the store today to buy a few bulbs.  I WILL get perfect pictures of these pillowcases!  I think they deserve it :)

Whew!

Well, I took a little bit of a break from this blogging thing, didn't I?  It would be an understatement to say I ran out of things to type about.  I had nothing valuable to say, so I decided to say nothing at all :)  Well, I am back!  I have made a resolution promise to myself that I am going to blog more in 2012.  I am going to think of it more as a journal to myself.  Maybe I will be less intimidated by it this way?
For now I will say 2 things:

1.  Happy New Year!  Make it a great year, or not.  The choice is yours.
2.  I sincerely apologize for the misuse of commas and all-around incorrect grammar.  I will get better!

See you next time!

Halloween

I have been itching to dig through the storage closet outside and pull out all the Fall and Halloween decorations for about a week now and lost my willpower today.  I drug out the Rubbermaid container full of orange and black and red and brown and took a big sigh of relief.  I am so excited to get started!

Yup, that is it.  All of the Fall decorations.  And a few St. Patrick's Day items as well.  Not a whole bunch.  But enough to make me smile :)  And enough to make the puppy curious.
I think it took every ounce of self control she had to not take everything out of The Box of Goodies.  Oh my, this puppy makes me smile too :)

The decorating has only gotten started.  The furniture polish and the glass cleaner came to join the party so I am off to give my house a good cleaning before I put up the rest.  I can't wait!!

September??

Is it really September already?  I just ended a phone call with the words "Have a Happy Labor Day Weekend!"  I am so looking forward to fall (as you may have read here) yet at the same time astonished.  It's September!  It feels like this year has flown by.  I hope everyone enjoys this special weekend and even if you have to Labor, end the day with a beer or margarita or meditation-whatever floats your boat.  Be safe!

Phew!

Phew!  It took quite a while but the re-vamped Peace, Love and Roses is here!

Out with the old, in with the new!  There are still a few things on clearance and I still have new items in the works so check back often!

The new line in the shop is all about comfort, sustainability, and color!  I have a huge obsession with reusable grocery bags.  I have a stack in my car at all times but they just aren't always cute.  I end up advertising for my grocery store instead of carrying around something that advertises who I am.  So, now I can AND I can share it with you!  These reusable tote bags are designed to go where you go.  They are all made of high quality, durable fabrics that will stand up to a rain storm or a carton of milk.  They are adorable and practical.  I carry one daily instead of a traditional purse and when I make an unexpected shopping trip I drop my purchase in the bag instead of using one more plastic bag.  I use the bag to carry my running shoes to the park before a jog, I carry my dog's treats when we go for a road trip and I always have a few extra on hand for my weekly trip to the grocery store.  The possibilities are endless!  Diaper bags, yoga class, farmers markets, textbooks, trick-or-treating, craft supplies, yarn and crochet hooks, lunch, clothes for the after-work-party, baby toys, beach days, laptops and ipads, notebooks and pens...I could go on and on!  Instead, I will let you choose the future for these bags.  Give them a good home, use them often, and enjoy!

Wow, I have been slacking!  I have been busy making them, and lucky enough to be featured in some but I haven't shared them with you!  Here are a few I was featured in...

And one made by yours truly...

On a side note: My apologies to my fellow bloggers out there... I have been reading your blogs but Google won't let me comment on them! Hopefully I will conquer this soon, y'all are producing some great stuff!
